Training young paladins-to-be and helping everyone within his land would further fill his task planner with honest, simple and holy work. Plus it gives you a base of operations as well as many nice plot hooks. Be sure to take leadership at the next opportunity, if you haven't already. Regarding the warlike nature impeding such a quiet life - for a warlike paladin, who has nothing to fight at the moment, jousting with other honorable knights would seem a good past time. This on the other hand gives ample opportunity to meet the lady, which could change his nature or at least direct it into more constructive (literally <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":p" title="Stick out tongue    :p"  data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":p" />) deeds until his strength of arms is once again needed.</blockquote>
