Paradigm Concepts Soars at GenCon Indy!

MIAMI – Paradigm Concepts announced today that GenCon Indy was a tremendously successful show. Paradigm Concepts’ products enjoyed strong sales and the company’s flagship Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires line was chiefly responsible.

The exhibit hall opening on Thursday saw a grand rush for “The Player’s Guide to Arcanis” Paradigm’s new campaign sourcebook for players of Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires either at home or as part of the Living Arcanis campaign. For the first hour, lines ran from the Paradigm booth around the corner towards the exhibit hall entrance. The company received emergency deliveries of product on both Friday and Saturday to meet demand for Arcanis product.

Events for the largest member-run RPGA campaign, Living Arcanis represented a significant percentage of RPGA play. The Living Arcanis events ”Pebble Upon Still Water” and ”Lusting Leeward” drew large numbers every session and the battle interactive ”How the Mighty Have Fallen” was the largest single RPG event of any kind at the show.

”The large consumer shows such as Origins and GenCon are key marketing opportunities for Paradigm Concepts,” said Paradigm Concepts’ Treasurer Eric Wiener, ”The outstanding sales and enthusiastic response to the Living Arcanis campaign made GenCon 2004 our best consumer show to date.”

About Living Arcanis

Living Arcanis is the largest member-run RPGA campaign with thousands of players world-wide. The RPGA is the roleplaying arm of organized play at Wizards of the Coast and is dedicated to providing play opportunities and support for Dungeons & Dragons and other d20 System games. Set in Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires, Living Arcanis challenges RPGA players' skills in role-playing, problem-solving, and d20 combat in ways that other campaigns do not. Legends are born each day, play Living Arcanis and leave your mark upon the Shattered Empires!

The player's guide is awesome. Very crunchy in parts (well, in chapters - chapters on classes and feats are crunch-intensive and full of good stuff) and very sweet overall.

What I really like is how each piece of material is tied closely to the setting and the exhibition material strengthens these links.

Oh yeah, the Serpent Empire book rocks too.

Some amazing releases this year, guys.

I'll be very curious to see how these books turned out (after all, I did work on them). Especially the Player's Guide, since it's always a challenge to get a hardcover put together just right.

Hello gentlemen,

Thanks for the kind words, Jason. We're very proud of the three new titles that premiered at Gen Con. I've had quite a few people comment how much they are enjoying Ssethregore and how difficult a time they are having choosing a class as all the new classes/Pclasses look great in the Player's Guide.

And Phil, I will be sending your copy of the Player's Guide to Arcanis as soon as we get the rest of the shipment in from the printer. However, 300 copies of the PGtA were sold (the first 160 copies in a mad 40 minute rush in the opening moments of Gen Con) and everyone had nothing but praise for it. :D I'm sure you'll be happy with the how it turned out.

On a side note, it was nice speaking with Alan (Psion) and I was told I spoke with Morrus, but he didn't introduce himself to me and his badge was flipped so I couldn't read the name. If that was you Morrus, it was nice speaking with you as well. :)

Sounds great. I look forward to seeing the books.

Well, you didn't talk to Morrus this year, Henry, he didn't make it to GenCon.

Yer getting your chain yanked by someone. :)

But only about that. The book is awesome, I was especially impressed with the Paladin-style classes for each deity of the Pantheon and for the elven deity. Nice.

Yes, I thought as much, but you never know. ;-)

Thank you. I like what we developed with our Holy Champions as it allows us to create new ones who worship different aspects of the gods, if necessary and desired. Our Living Arcanis players seem to like the variation.

Oh, and and in addition to the Pantheon Gods and the Elorii(elven) ones, there's one for our scaly PCs in the form of the Sentinel of the Blazing Wyrm too. :)

He probably talked with Michael Morris, who was there. He wouldn't have been the only one who was mislead. Someone said to me "Morrus doesn't sound like he's British" after talking with Michael. :)
