Paragon Tier Fey adventure ideas

Chaoszero

First Post
I have an ongoing adventure-path type thing featuring fey as the main opponent. The heroic tier adventures are well taken care of, but when I think about the paragon adventures I come up with a blank.

I know the vague BBEG is in the feywild and he/they want to destroy civilization, and the heroic tier was all about foiling the bottom of the ladder's plots. Maybe its a war between the seelie/unseelie courts or something or the king of the faeries has gone mad. I do know that once they reach Epic Tier they go into the feywild and face eladrins and the arch-fey.

I guess I should start having the bad guys send assassins after the heroes; like quicklings and banshraes.

Any ideas?

Who is the BBEG and why does it/they/he/she want to destroy human civilization? What classes/levels are your PCs?

Off the top of my head, how about a large number of children have been abducted by faeries despite the local fey regent proclaiming it unlawful to do so. The king of the region decides that enough is enough, and his reputation is hurting from not protecting his people. With the help of his mage advisor he marshals his troops for war against the fey regent via a gateway to the Feywild, telling his troops to kill any fey child they see in retaliation. The fey regent sees this as the beginning of an inquisition (as the king's forefathers had done) which will ultimately leave many fey and humans dead and wipe out magic from the land. The fey regent likewise prepares for war, determined to kill the king and all his "cursed" children to spare needless suffering.

Enter the PCs to find the faerie kidnappers, rescue the children, and mend relations between the fey regent and king. Hijinx ensues. :)

Have you read Raven Crowking's awesome faeries thread? It's a must read.

Ultra Rumplestiltskin--The queen of a kingdom achieved her position by promising her firstborn to an evil fey. Now that she has born a son, the fey has returned for his payment--But he'll let the king keep his kid as long as he's willing to <invade a neighboring country/allow the fey to take all of his subjects' children instead/whatever other vile act suits your purpose>

Fomorians. They're Paragon tier.

Or, you could go with something slightly on the light side. Here's an adventure Idea I've been toying with: Wedding of Twixt and Twain

The PCs are traveling somewhere, and they find three women arguing on the side of the road. It is clear that these ladies are a little... different. They have some fey overtones, but it's not blatant. The women stop the PCs and ask, "You there, help settle our quarrel. Which of us is the most beautiful?"

The PCs proceed to decide. Once the decision is made, an eladrin noble shows up and says, "Thanks. I've been unable to decide which to marry. You have broken the tie. I expect you at the wedding. Here are some reasonable (read: EXPECTED) gifts you should bring. Here is the way to the wedding. See you there." He takes his bride and leaves. Not showing up at the wedding will be seen as a grave insult and will bring the wrath of the fey to their door.

Now, the PCs have to run around collecting esoteric items (like say, the first ray of sunlight, the sound of a cat's footstep) while they have to deal with the wrath of the two women whom they did not pick.

Then the PCs have to go to the wedding, and deal with the volatile, tricky nature of a fae party. Not to mention contending with the plots of the BBEGs.

Nothing in that hook would make me as a player want to collect esoteric items and go to the wedding. Particularly if I'm paragon tier and already dealing with much more important matters such as thwarting armies, uncovering plots against the king or the world, etc.

In fact, I wouldn't even help them settle who's the most beautiful. Seems rude. I would try to make a Diplomacy check to get out of the situation.
