The first supplement to Paranoia XP is now out and about in your local games store and book shop - The Traitor's Manual.
This book explodes the Secret Societies of Alpha Complex, giving players and GMs new ways to commit treason, frame other Troubleshooters and uncover the true secrets of the Computer. From Anti-Mutant and the Communists to PURGE and the Sierra Club, Troubleshooters of all stripes will find a home within these pages.
The first chapter looks at the nature of secret societies and why they exist in Alpha Complex - but you'll want to skip all that and head straight to the section that tells you how to lie effectively (a Five Step plan) and avoid Computer surveillance. There are also details on bribery, initiation, random message drops, information control and rankings - all the normal administration that keeps any secret society functioning.
We then head into the detailed descriptions of the secret socieites themselves. Do Communists really exist in Alpha Complex? Just what are the Computer Phreaks capable of? What is the best source of income for Free Enterprise?
It is all in here. . .
The last section is Ultraviolet clearence, GM only. Be warned. But what the Hell, you'll ignore the warnings, right? Here there are new ways for GMs to mess with player's minds who are concentrated on their secret societies, creating splinter groups, turning the regular societies on their heads, using IOUs as rewards and much more. Finally, there is a complete mission, Down and Out in Alpha Complex that brings secret societies to the fore.
