party Paladin and his army

A lot of good things to bring up when I discuss this with my DM which I am in the process of doing Via E-mail.

The paladin's army has officers made up from the men in the army he has a command structure it just does not include any one in the party.

For example the party druid needed a message taken into the city we were at. She was busy arranging for the food she had purchased for the men to be put away. She asked one of the men to take the message and he refused. The player made it quite plain to the DM that in know way would any of his men do anything the party asked without a direct order from him or one of his officers.

Needless to say the party druid will no longer do anything for the army. Though this has not come up in game yet. This is something the player said to me.

Right now we are on a ship headed for the closest port to the city where we know the cure for the plague is. At this point party consensus is that we do a quick search of the sea bottom while the ship is being repaired and then we head on to fight the plague. The paladin's plans for a stronghold being but on hold for now.

I have reservations about heading into this mission with the army situation as things stand. We are heading into a city controlled by a Vampire. Paladins and mages are targeted for killing as soon as they are found to be in the city. Something has to be done with the army not following any of the party it is just to much a recipie for the DM to really stick it to us.

Kill the Paladin - a Druid would be justified in removing anything she sees as a threat not only to her survival but to the survival of an entire population - and thats what the Paladin has become. The druid should transform into a shark and bite the Paladins head off - I know I would:D

(yeah a good druid might feel pangs of guilt but the shift to True Neutral shouldn't be too much of a blow)
