Paizo Pathfinder Quest

It makes me sad, but I'm not backing this. I say that as perhaps the biggest fan of Warhammer Quest, and a big fan of Shadows of Brimstone (which uses updated rules but basically the WQ system). When I saw "Pathfinder Quest" I thought ... an update of the classic game to Pathfinder tropes.

After watching the play video, I'm thinking no thank you. But I hope there will be a ton of people who do like it. Just not for me.

i was reading that the replay value is pretty low. Not sure how customizable it is, anyone know?

I have no idea TBH. I've seen how it looks like it plays and that they have different scenarios and a campaign card to keep track of choices...but I honestly have no idea. Probably only the playtesters would know at this point.

If I had to guess, I'd guess it would be similar to the replayability of Gloomhaven (that has a campaign book) or Descent: Legends of the Dark which are more or less the direct type of competition for this game.

They also have somewhat set scenarios you set up which, if you want to replay the game you would probably replay at least some of them.

right, i read from a play tester and another person who played at gencon that it was fun, and not much different than similar games, it didn't to seem to have much replay ability or customization for creating new scenarios or missions. Could be that wasn't developed or shown, so I was curious.

The crowdfund doesn't talk much about it, and i would assume expansions would have to drive new content in the way of new places, and new scenarios vs using as a kit to build off.

Good news on the replayability front, one of the stretch goals was an "Endless Adventure" mode with randomized encounters. The initial goal that unlocked it had you start at level 1, but they just hit a stretch goal for Endless Adventure to have a level 4 version as well, with more dangerous enemies and complex scenarios.

Don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they might do one more stretch goal for a version at max level. Just makes sense as a capstone for that option.
