I like Otus, personally. He's at the unrealistic/surrealistic end of the spectrum, but I feel it reflected the goofy feel of earlier editions, and his work was really creative. There's a place for everything I think.
Yeah, I wouldn't want him illustrating, say, Harn, but for an OSR product or even something on the weirder fringes of standard D&D, he's a great choice.I like Otus, personally.
