From what I have heard about the novelization of the Paul Schrader version, it seems like the movie will be pretty good... Although I really think that they should have stopped after the first film. It's too hard of an act to follow. I do have high hopes for this new version though. I never went to see the Renny Harlin version after hearing about what happened. As a prospective film-maker, it really kind of irks me to hear about stuff like that.
Anyway, I can't wait to see it in the theatre (I only thought it was going to be a dvd release), great news.
