PC Death House Rules

Got tired of people who die on 6001 exp losing 1501 exp and the person dying on 9999 exp losing 4499 exp (about 3 times more).
Its just not fair:

I also dislike that at high levels you either have a TPK or noone loses exp.
My prefered house rules are:

Raise Dead:
- On being raised the character loses 500xp for each level the character had when it died.
- This is Instead of the character falling to half way between its two previous levels.

Resurrection:
- On being raised the character loses 400xp for each level the character had when it died.
- This is Instead of the character falling to half way between its two previous levels.

True Resurrection:
- On being raised the character loses 300xp for each level the character had when it died.
- If the character would normally lose a level due to this experience loss, they are reduced to the minimum experience that character could have without losing a level.

In the campaign I'm currently playing in, both new and replacement characters start at the same level as the lowest-level member of the party, at the minimum XP needed to be that level (15,000 for 6th level, etc.). The equipment of the deceased, unless it is destroyed somehow, is divided up amongst the surviving party members.

When I allow new characters to come in with new equipment, I randomly roll out 20% of their treasure in gp value (as determined by the chart in the DMG) to simulate that the existing characters did not get the ability to pick exactly what they wanted, when they wanted it. I also put a max gp value based on % so that a new character can't come in with a +5 sword of uberness and can't afford to pay for his own meal at the local inn.
