PC & NPC Gear Values

How do I determine the gear values of PCs above 40th level and the gear values of NPCs above 30th level?

Maybe not, but what's he gonna do about it? I'm not getting in the way of PCs above 40th level. Maybe 38th, 39th tops. Above 40? Fugeddaboutit.

Incidentally :

I thought it was established that there was NO pattern to gold amounts?

It was? Dang. One would think that after doing derivatives of the exponential growth, that some kind of pattern could be found.

THere is a pattern... jsut not all the way from 1 to 40... after lvl 20 the pattern changes to the 21-40+ pattern... based on encounters per lvl, and wealth per encounter

There's no true pattern, however, with an exponential progression you can get pretty close. I did that for 25th level characters before ELH came out, and I was pleased how close I got it.
