Now before you dash for your Burnmaster and eat some Fire Ant Nectar (yes, I've been playing F3 a lot lately), this is NOT an argument about the superiority of either platform.

Let me repeat that. This is NOT an argument about which is better (besides which, the answer is obvious :D).

I'm simply curious about the ratios of online RPG'ers with respect to which platform they prefer. This is a simple NUMBERS thread, not an argument thread. In fact, I'm not presenting any argument whatsoever in this post, just asking which platform you, as an RPG'er, use most.

I have my theories, but I think it's probably best to keep them to myself for now :)

PC here. I wouldn't mind messin' with a Mac, but I don't have time to learn the ins and outs of it - it would slow my work down too much to try.

I actually much prefer the Mac OS, but the hardware is crap (I like being able to easily upgrade components without needing to buy a whole new computer) and I like being able to choose between a wide variety of apps for everything I could possibly want to use a computer for. So, PC.

PC. However, I am very interested in the mythical Apple iTablet, since I've been shopping for a tablet for several years now, and none of the existing ones suit my needs.

Same answer as the last time this poll was made here...

Player Character, of course; this is an RPG site, doh! ;)

My vote was "Both, mostly Mac" because I really only use PCs when forced to, and that isn't often.

but the hardware is crap

Well, I understand what you're saying about not being able to freely/easily upgrade, and some of the stuff doesn't have a feature that I prefer, but the quality of the hardware definitely isn't crap.

I routinely eschew the use of the standard keyboard & mouse, preferring aftermarket keyboards and trackballs- usually Kensingtons. On my most recent Mac, I have an aftermarket monitor. But all of that's just about feel, not quality.

The only real problem I've had since buying my first Mac back in the 1980s is currently occurring. My Mom's G4 (from 2003) is having an issue with its power system- about 1/3 of the time, it won't turn on without actually unplugging and replugging it first.
