Don't think of those skill points being taken away from adventure, that is a false dichotomy. Accomplishing a goal, like making a treasure known to all Hyboria, can be an adventure in itself. You can use it as a reason for an assortment of quests, parlay your reputation into a source for adventure...

Absolutely!

Oh...and I cringe when I hear "Hyboria". There is no "Hyboria". The world is the earth, in our prehistoric past, some 10,000 or 12,000 years ago.

It's the "Hyborian Age", called that for the most advanced racial group of the time--the Hyborians, which populate the most powerful kingdoms.

Yes, the word "Hyboria" is seen all over. Some of the RPG supplements use it, and it was even in the new Conan movie.

But, it's incorrect. Most true Conan fans I know step back in disgust when they hear it.

....Just in case you care! :p

Right you are, but when in Rome, bang a hot Italian chick, you know? People use the word for the setting, so no matter where you go, there you are...

I just try not to encourage its use. I'd much rather see the correct "Hyborian Age" mentioned rather than "Hyboria". Unless you're a Conan fan, I would guess that a person wouldn't know the difference--or even care.
