I once went a total GM against players killing spree in Shadowrun, well less of a killing spree and more of a consistent series of events to make the players extremely paranoid and unhappy.
There were many parts to this campaign; an employee who basically went from being a paladin of the good and true to Kurtz from Apocalypse Now, an incident with a souped up cleaning machine, having the party signed up for membership in the Humanis Policlub by an unknown sponsor, leaving orphans with cortex bombs on their doorstep, that sort of thing...
...but the shining moment was the introduction of a new mage character. One of my roommates was a tremendously good guy and a true Munchkin, so he wanted in on the game as an alligator shaman. And being a true munchking, I helped him to set up with all the very best horrifically nasty area affect spells like "laze" the area affect spell of lazer and Slaughter Human the area affect version of Kill Human. When the min/maxing got started he ticked off all of his perception points since the spells were all area affect and beefed up his personal magical defeneses and stamina.
hehheh, I called him the PC trap.
At a certain point in the game more than half of the party was dedicated to helping this guy target and time his spells and they would still manage to fry a forward fighter in some hideous burning inferno at least once a session. Delightful...
Of course they never felt justified in getting rid of the character since he was responsible for around 80% of the party kills and too scary to cross.
There was another incident with priest character who decided to reveal his true alignment while the party was babysitting the child of a powerful local wizard, but that's a story for another time and probably another messageboard.
