PDF Crits and Suggestions

I like it. But drop the page number down, away from the main body of the text. It looks like it's starting some kind of probe. :D

NICE art, btw, and cool maps. Where're they from?

I agree about branding. Branding is good for games.

Cheers
Nell.

I have dropped the page number. As for the art, it comes from a number of places. I drew the maps, the rest is clipart.

Thanks,
Bill

Very nice looking, big 'thumbs up' on the layout. I definitely prefer two column layouts, especially since many buyers will print it and read the hardcopy.

The only quibble I have is that the styles of the section headers and sub-heads is so different as to be distracting. See page 9, near the bottom of the left column. As I was scanning through the document, admiring the layout and graphics, this caused a sort of mental trainwreck. I had to back up and look again to figure out what was going on. It may just be me, but the head-subhead difference was too much for my taste.

(Disclosure warning - I have absolutely no training or experience in layout for publication, unless you count the work I did on my high school newspaper some twenty *cough-cough* years ago. I can only offer personal opinions, and I'm sure you know what those are worth.)

Again, other than that one minor quibble, I found the layout very pleasing to the eye. As a free teaser to a larger product, it would definitely encourage me to take a closer look at the content and whether or not it fit my needs/wants.

Putting a small logo on each page is okey, but as a buyer it would annoy me a bit because it wastes my ink.

PDF buyers are always concerned with ink cartridges.
