PDF Help!

Eosin the Red

First Post
Here is the problem... I wrote a little ditty to test drive my layout, design, and PDFing skills. Man, oh man do they suck. After several tries I got a layout that works but when I PDF it all of the headers runtogether lik ethis.

I am using PDF995 and Word. I am gonna try using a different word processor/layout but it would be so much easier to work in word. Any suggestions from any of the pros out there?

Thanks in advance.

Try distilling to Acrobat Distiller (that way you'll know whether it's a problem with PDF995 or with the word document).

Looks good btw.

ps. If you don't have Acrobat Distiller, email me part of the Word document you want distilled and i'll distill it for you.

open office

I have never tried using pdf995, any good?

I have had few problems opening the .doc file in Open Office, saving it in open office format then converting it to PDF, the only problem is you lose the hyperlinks.

Does pdf 995 allow you to add links in like Acrobat Writer does?

1.8 meg file....not web optimized yet either.

After a quick look at the PDF I can't tell why that has happened to your headlines. I can make a guess though, it seems that your fonts have gone a little screwy when using PDF995. If you look at your body text it has all bitmapped, which accounts for the 1.8 meg file size.

Do you have access to Acrobat Distiller? If not send me a page and I'll convert it for you and see what happens. :D

It is Word 2000

The email function of the boards is disabled so if someone will e-mail me at Eosin_the_red@cox.net I will send you the file. If someone else can PDF it normally as Cergorach said then I will know it is in the distilation BUT if it won't distil then I would guess it is something with word.

Anyway, thanks for the help!
