And for God's sake, don't make a prestige class book.

He could go through the MM and make monster PrCs. That might be cool. So you'd have a Krenshar with levels in Krenshar. Kind of like Monte's racial levels or the racial levels that were in Unearthed Arcana.

I'm thinking of putting some pdfs together to raise some airfare funds for Gencon

That ship has sailed, I'm afraid. Even if you managed to get them out immediately (doubtful), assuming that you're looking to sell them via RPGNow, you wouldn't see any money for July's sales until August 15th, which is 3 days before GenCon. You might be able to offset your costs a bit, but it would be cutting it close, and you'd only be getting two weeks worth of sales.

Sorry to be a wet-blanket realist, but there ya go.

For something like this it's all about price point. These are all things any GM can do for himself with enough time, so you have to price it low enough to make them say, "That's worth it for the time it'll save me."

Of the three, I'd be least interested in #1. The particular boss/minion combination is usually too central to the adventure for me to use anything I find. And if I have to modify it, I might as well just do it myself.

All solid ideas, though. The templated critters would be especially useful for campaigns with lots of summoning.

Ah, at first I thought you meant monster-related PrCs like the ones Mearls did for me in Monster's Handbook. Monster levels for monsters are an interesting idea, though.

What else *would* you be? :) I don't need the money to buy the tickets, but it would be nice to have it when I got back. :)

I find that wet-blankets are often needed, especially in the PDF side of the biz.

Have you considered approaching an existing publisher, and having them handle layout/art/etc? That would seem to make more sense, especially if you're not looking to really start a business....

Hell, drop me an email. I'd be interested.
