$9.99 is a great price - thank you, Paizo! I tend to buy most of my games as PDF only now . . .

The True20 Adventure Roleplaying, Revised Edition PDF is also $9.99. I wonder if ten bucks is the new benchmark for core rules PDFs?

Interesting question. As a pdf customer I could only hope so, but there is variance.

Oh wow, those Conan books. There's no way I could justify getting the pdf over the print copy at that price.(which is a moot point by now anyway...)

I think the pre-3.x D&D pdfs really spoiled me for prices. I just can't imagine spending more than twenty dollars on something that is relatively easy to find in print.

I feel that $10.00 ($9.99) is perfect for a pdf. Sure, I'd be ecstatic if the benchmark was $5.00, but hey, they've gotta make some money.

I don't have a problem paying $20.00 or more for a pdf if the book is exclusively produced in pdf format. But, if it's predominantly a print product, and people will predominantly buy the print product and maybe purchase the pdf as a convenient supplement, then I think it's absolutely ludricous to expect someone to pay full or near full price for a pdf. $10.00 is as high as I'll go.

Now, once the market transitions to a predominantly electronic medium (maybe soon, maybe not), then I'd understand higher prices for pdf's. I don't remember how much, but I do remember reading that printing costs actually are not the major cost of a publication. It would only make sense then to sell pdf's at a higher price. It would be the only way to make a profit. At that time I'd also expect actual printed versions to be even more expensive, simply because the volumes would probably be much lower. I wouldn't expect print books to completely disappear (especially for more popular titles) unless the industry decides they just aren't worth it anymore.

Yeah, Ars Magic 4e the 4e one is at SJGames but no longer at rpgnow. I think Atlas games pulled all their stuff off RPGNow at the time of the merger with DTRPG and change in publisher vs store cuts on pdf profits.

I recently splurged and got Werewolf the Forsaken and spent $21 on the revised Paranoia XP. (I didn't include paranoia in the list above because it will be retired and not available next Wednesday).

I've got a little buyer's remorse on Paranoia (remorse over the price, not on the contents).

Ten dollars is still far too much for a PDF core system. Truth be told, the price of PDFs is primarily why there is so much damn piracy. I feel people are far more reticent to purchase PDFs at any price above 5 dollars, as opposed to gambling away 30 bucks on a hardcover product.

Sorry, dude, but that's crazy talk. $10 is a great price for a core rulebook PDF, particularly those as big as True20 and Pathfinder.

I was reasonably happy paying full cover price for the WotC PDFs. I am very pleased with the PDFs that are around 1/2 of the regular cover price. And I'm happy as can be about pdfs that are priced less than 1/2 the regular cover price.

I've never seen the sense in arguments that a pdf should cost less than a physical product. When I'm paying for an RPG product, especially, I'm paying for the content, not the package that it comes in.
