I must admit, I was absolutely stunned to find my name among the runners-up for Fan Favorite Author/Designer. Even with all the work I've done, I tend to think of myself as a small fish. I'm honored and grateful to be among such august company.

Do I understand it correctly that only products with a release date of 2004 were considered? That would make these awards completely different in their impact from the ENnies. With the amount of time between release and awards, they won't have much influence on current sales. On the other hand, it doesn't propel the latest fad . The latter is not meant derogatory, but is just a reflection of human nature, which tends to remember best the happenings of the last two months .

When was the voting on these awards held?

It was actually held back in March. Normally the winners are announced in late April or early May, but some system issues delayed it quite a bit this year.
