Penny Arcade do 4th ed - Podcast

It's funny, I thought Kurtz didn't like gaming as much anymore, since he seemed to want to distance himself from the gaming publishers (Dork Storm) in a recent interview , and he was kind of cold towards Gary Gygax's death recently.

Because not wanting to continue unprofitable business relationships and failing to idolize mortal men as much as others think they should be idolized moves you into the realm of "non-gamer"?

No, but PVP is becoming a strip that has nothing to do with gaming or gamers or geeks anymore, and Scott's tone of those articles made me sense a sort of passive-aggressive stance against gaming really.

Put it this way, when's the last time the PVP characters discussed gaming of late, or big elements of pop culture? Kurtz might not feel any thoughts towards Gygax, but I'm sure Cole would've reacted. (Come to think of it, where's Cole's thoughts on the new Indy movie anyway).

The Penny Arcade guys deserve to be there, but I think it might have been better if they gave the guys from Dork Storm a seat at the table, or Order of the Stick, or a few other strips.
