Which is why open-ended questions like that are a non-starter. Thankfully, so far WotC isn't going that route.

The musings are up, and are pretty cogent. I like the line about people already being pleased -- which is only a problem if you try to sell them something else.

Of course, I don't think WotC is trying to "please everyone." I think they're planning on making both D&D traditional, and D&D extra-chunky, and D&D creamy....some version of D&D won't be very big hits (THIS IS WHAT THE OGL IS FOR USE IT NOW), but there's several versions of D&D that can be produced, even for limited times, rather than just ONE.
