Penumbra Bestiary

Does anyone know when this comes out? I've been to Atlas' site, but can't find anything. I'm intrigued by the rumors I've heard of it including monsters from little-plundered myths.

I'm eagerly expecting some Native American, Aboriginal, and Eskimo monsters. ;) And maybe some Celtic ones - it seems to me that though the Celtic influence on DnD is great, the mythology's mostly unused (especially the cooler monsters).

Yep, Michelle has been working on it in recent weeks, having already turned over the earlier books she was working on to layout, and Scott was telling me that he's assigned about 100 pieces of art so far. We're aiming for it to be a December release, though we haven't finalized all the details of length, price point, etc. I can say it will be enormous (>300 pages, something like 200,000 words of text and I think there will be a picture for each monster entry) and hardcover. Hey, if you're gonna do another monster book, why hold back? (Especially since we've been working on this one for something like two years now.)

Assuming the December release date does look achievable (early December, we hope, so it can be on lots of Christmas gift lists!), we should be announcing the book formally by mid-August. Watch for preview samples to appear on our website in advance of the book's release, too, of course.
