Percentage of Gamers in Texas

Raised in SA, live in Frisco, TX now (with a few other players - though we are on the 13th month of hiatus).

I have never had problems finding gamers in North Dallas when I have tried (read: when I was less afraid about getting tenure ;) )

this sounds great, I am moving to Wichita Falls(Shepard AFB) in april, if that area anything like the rest of texas I hope to have no problem finding a game.

DonAdam and I went to the same school, and I'm still in the state up in the Southern Panhandle High Plains area.

Got a couple of game stores, and an impressively varied community of gamers here.

In my high school just about everyone had had some experience or knew someone who had and it was in very non-stereotyped groups.

Wasn't till college that I had my first gaming group that wasn't mostly women.

Another from Houston, here. We've got quite a few gamers here, even above the number you'd expect from having several nearby colleges.

Shadowdancer mentioned the Austin game day, but for those who haven't seen the thread, here's a link.

PS -- Since people are listing group sizes, I'll jump on the bandwagon. My groups are:
+ RoleMaster, 3 players, story-heavy modules, ~ lvl 6, weekly, I play
+ RoleMaster, 7 players, hack-heavy modules, ~ lvl 10, bi-weekly, I play
+ Urban Arcana, 4 players, mixed modules & original, ~ lvl 4, bi-weekly, I play
+ Rokugan D20, 4 players, mixed modules & original, ~ lvl 10, on hiatus, I GM

Okay, I know this is completely random, but I have to ask, I've noticed a huge number of gamers listed as from Texas, and even specifically my area, DFW. Is there actually a higher than normal gamer population in the area? Please, if you're from the Lone Star State, sound off, let me know if you're out there.

Reisdent of Arlington.
In my group (Houston, Texas) there are 5 of us total.

Good thread! :)

I'm living in Grapevine now. (suberb of Fort Worth) Been playing with a group of about 6-8 people for about five years now. And yes, there do seem to be a lot of gamers in this area.
