I like me some dragons (as monsters). I'm not one of those "DRAGONS ARE GODS! GODS, DO YOU HEAR ME?!" folks; if a well-heeled party can take down a dragon and they encounter one...well...heh, it's not a good day to be a bad dragon. :]

Same here! I kind of miss the dumb lizards.

Dragons are played almost like fiends, with uber-spells and personal minions. I'd rather leave that to the fiends and the classed villains, and just use a higher CR dragon (to make up for it being the only creature on the battlefield).

I agree. No more half-dragons, you kinky lizards, you. :]

I agree with this too.

I'm so sick of dragons I could hurl. Everyone is always playing up the Draconomicon like it's this great beautiful book. The text is passable but the artwork is complete ass. Take this illustration as an example:

How exactly is that supposed to be awe inspiring? It's not. At all. The same goes for the rest of the book. Most dragons in D&D are so vanilla they don't even raise an eyebrow anymore. SNORE!

*sighs* Okay fine it's time I pulled out my secret weapon...

SCARRED LANDS!!
:p :)

What does that have to do with dragons? Nothing. But then again this thread is about...nothing. :p :)

Why do people love dragons so much? Ok so there's some pretty cool nostalgia about the hero slaying the dragon and saving the damsel in distress, but do we really need to have every iota of dragon information printed in the form of endless tedious supplements? I guess there are people who just really like dragons, but I don't recall Wizards printing 20 books solely on the topic of the Xil (Not that they should under any circumstance).
What, exactly, are you talking about man?

There was Draconomicon, Dragon Magic, DragonLance CS, Dragonmarked (which really has little to do with Dragons themselves, to my understanding) Dragons of Faerun and a handful of uber-sized minis for one-half of the namesake of the game itself - Dungeons and Dragons. This amongst (now) seven years of other great, dynamic and awesome products and game accessories and adventures from WotC.

Really, where are these 20 books and the 'iota' of dragon information?

Actually, I too could go without dragons. MMIV has how many spawn? Every bloody supplement has another dragon in it. While not every book might be about dragons specifically, far too many supplements feature yet another one.

Hey, Nightfall, actually you're right. Scarred Lands has nothing to do with dragons. That's 'cos they're all freakin' dead in that setting. I knew there was another reason why I heart Scarred Lands.
