Four levels higher. The persistent spell must have a personal or a fixed range (for example, comprehend languages or detect magic). Spells of instantaneous duration cannot be affected by this feat, nor can spells whose effect is discharged.

The errata prevented it from being used on touch spells, but not Shield. Shield is one of the only decent arcane spells for Persistent spell.

Touch spells dont work ? So a cleric cant cast a Persistant Shield of Faith ?
I have a cleric who casts Persistant Divine Favor on himself everyday (his a combat cleric) but I thought he could cast Persistant Shield of Faith on himself or someone else.
So you cant even make a Persistant Bulls STR ? That kind of ruins the feat doesnt it ?

The feat is hardly ruined. Many would claim it is still too powerful:

Divine Favor
Divine Power
Righteous Might
and a few I'm sure I forgot

You don't need persistant Bull's Strength. In fact, its an incredible waste. By the time you're casting 6th level spells, you can extend Bull's Strength (et. al.) for only one level increase and get them up to 22 hours or more.
