yeah, but as Rashak said.. it'd be a waste for Poly Self. At 9th level, you can extend it so that it lasts for 18 hours! And that's just a one level increase...

Shield and spells that last 1 minute/level are what makes the feat useful...

Also, you can no longer choose to change forms as often as you want with P.S., making it much less useful.

In fact, I can't really think of any reason to choose P.S. over Polymorph Other.

There's one - PS has a duration (1 hr/lvl) and is dismissable. PO is permanent and non-dismissable. So if a caster uses PO on himself, he better be able to cast Dispel Magic or have someone else do it, in order to return to normal.

That's true. But most casters in a party environment would have access to dispel magic. Also, assuming that the access isn't his own, he could always cast PO again to become a human, then go buy a Dispel Magic.

Arcane spells eligible for Persistent Spell feat:

univ 0 Detect magic,
univ 0 Read Magic,
illus 1 Change Self,
div 1 Comprehend Languages,
div 1 Detect Secret Doors,
div 1 Detect Undead,
trans 1 Expedious Retreat,
abjur 1 Shield,

trans 3 Blink,
evoc 4 Fire Shield
abjur 4 Minor Globe of Invulnerability,
trans 4 Polymorph Self .
trans 6 Tenser's Transformation

My thanks and apologies to the person who compiled this list... I didn't record the name.

[edit] Note: Applying Persistent Spell to the last 3 would require the ability to cast spells higher than 9th level. [/edit]

Of course, a Persistant Shapechange would take up a 13th-level spell slot...

Reading is fundamental.(his edit was there well before your post by the way)

Yeah, I know. I noticed it right after my own post came up. :o Ah, well. We're all bound to look like a fool now and again, I suppose it was just my turn. :p
