personal potions?

Just a quick, and possibly stupid, question. Can you make a potion from a spell with a personal range? For example a potion of Divine Favor.

No, from the SRD: "Spells with a range of personal cannot be made into potions."

Strictly speaking, no.

However, some DMs allow it in as a house rule.

The imbiber of the potion is both the caster and the target. Spells with a range of personal cannot be made into potions.

You know, I seem to recall, in 3.0 anyway, that there was a potion of a "Target: Personal" spell in the DMG. Did that get removed or changed?

The following are the 3.0 DMG errata regarding potions:

p. 191, Make he [sic] following changes to Table 8–18: Potions.
Replace Clairaudience/clairvoyance with: Protection from arrows
Replace Detect thoughts with [2nd]: Remove paralysis
Replace Remove blindness/deafness with [3rd]: Displacement
Replace Remove paralysis with [3rd]: Negative energy protection
Replace Lesser restoration with [2nd] “See invisibility”

Psionic tattoos allow it, but the cost is doubled. Might allow that as a hose rule for potions.
