I know as soon as any of my players start winking at me, I start bringing a tazer to the table.

I try to allow (if not encourage) romantic RP'ing. However, there are some comfort things things that I do. Really, only two things:

1/ All RP shifts into the 3rd person.
2/ Events that would cause the camera to fade to black in a 1950s movie do the same for the narrative.

Why do I bother? Because romantic entanglements are the blood and oxygen of literature, and therefore of plots, and most especially of human political plots.
