Ugh, complex indeed.kengar said:OK, this is how it was explained to me. New Line bought the rights to make the Hobbit from Saul Zaentz Co. The rights to distribute the Hobbit, however, are owned by another studio (United Artists, iirc). Probably having to do with the 1977 animated version.
