Peter Jackson to direct King Kong

As long it is not another American version of the Big Lizard. I need that like I need another Star Trek film by Berman & Braga.

The difference, here, is that I expect Star Trek to be good. I don't expect Godzilla to be.

I just expect to see a huge lizard smashing things.

Personally, I have this intense mental picture of King Kong climbing the tower of Barad-Dur, with Galadriel clutched in his fist.

And you know, I think I may use that image in a game or in one of my D20 projects. I mean, let's face it. D&D just doesn't have enough big honkin' monkeys. :D

Best imagery ever!

Totally agree there. I was never so happy as I was when Dragon had that article several issues back on the kaiju template and all the stuff that went with it. Finally, gigantic monsters again!

That's what I mean. Godzilla is what you expect it to be, when it is made in Japan.

The same expectation when it comes to Star Trek, when it was made by a guy named Nicholas Meyer, responsible for Star Trek II and VI.

But NEMESIS is just like the Godzilla film starring Matthew Broderick. You expect some familiar standard of quality ... but isn't there.
