Peter Lee talks about Modrons miniatures

So... do you like modrons? :p

Want modrons. And modron minis. :(

Alas, modrons made the fatal mistake of not appearing in 1e Fiend Folio, so I am neutral toward them. I mostly checked out of AD&D during 2e, so I know little about them WRT Planescape.

OTOH, I don't have a knee jerk, negative reaction toward them. I'm the guy who designed a 4e version of the carbuncle (for my own use, not in a published product), so I'm pretty liberal with my love of wacky monsters.

So when can we expect the flumph and flail-snail minis?

After an emergency concepting meeting, the new vision for the 4E modron has emerged:

Yes, it's a joke folks. Modrons are fine in my book.

So... when you're gonna spend a lovely time designing 4E modrons for that masterwork online update? ;);););)

Dreadful mistake, huh?

I always liked the concept of modrons, even if their depiction was weird. Call it the mathematician in me. :)

Cheers!

So... how would you like modrons? And what do people like about modrons?

I like them within the context of Mechanus and how they were represented in Planescape. I think they are one of the races that can be easily identified with their home plane, in the way that Baatezu, Tannari and Slaad fit theirs. Maybe their time has passed, but I don't think it would take much to re-imagine them.
