Petition to Name Element 117 "Octarine", in honour of Sir Terry Pratchett

A petition has been set up in Change.org to request the International Union for Applied Chemistry that the recently confirmed Element 117 be named "Octarine", in homage of the late Sir Terry Pratchett and his Discworld series.

I have no idea if these things actually work, but who knows!

There was a fifty-fifty chance I'd sign something like this but when I saw they needed 50K signatures, I pushed my hat down over my eyes, stood on one foot, and signed away . . .
