PHB II in March?

I've heard this before, but I've never understood it; what's "striker-ish" about barbarians? They're not "glass cannons", they're big, m.f.in' front-line brutes with hit points to spare....

Where in the definition of Striker does it say they have to be glass cannons? I can't see any reason why you can't have a pure melee focused Striker with a ton of hit points and a lot of abilities to trade defenses for damage and attack bonuses.

How about Templar for T? I like the name for a Divine type. Other than that, I really like your list The_Fan.

Good catch on that, but I don't think Templar will be it. A bit too Paladinish, and is likely to appear as a paladin Paragon Path in the future.

What's the sourcing on Shamans being likely? Were they ever particularly popular in 2E or 3E? I don't think I've ever seen one played.

I saw dragonshamans being played. Are we talking about those? A player in my current game just used his leadership feat on one so he could tell his henchman to 'stand a few feet over there and project auras.'

I see people using the first letters from the interview a little while back for Classes, but my understanding was that it was for races....or did I miss a scoop?
They revealed the first letters for races in one interview, but since then they've also revealed the first letters for classes, and the second letters for some of the races and such.

I've got all the info on that, and everything else I've been able to find out about upcoming classes & races, over in this thread.

Is it possible that the Swordmage from the FR PLayer's Handbook gets reprinted and that's the S?

On one hand, we all hate paying for reprinted material, but on the other hand, the class isn't appearing in a Core book and may not get any exposure to players with no interest in FR.

I almost hope it is the Swordmage so that we get it as a standardized class that then gets support in the Arcane splatbook - but it would also be nice to hear from Wizards if that class will be reprinted - otherwise I'm sure you will get people that pick up the book primarily for the class then fell they wasted money later.

No, Rich Baker has confirmed that the swordmage won't appear in the PH2.

On the other hand, the Arcane Power blurb says it is covering the bard, sorcerer, warlock, and wizard -- which makes it virtually certain that we'll see an arcane-leader bard and arcane-controller sorcerer in the PH2, the protestations of some notwithstanding.
