PHB3: Githzerai and Seeker

The updated Githzerai is now available in the character builder (and corresponding article here). The only changes are the addition of a bonus to saves vs. daze, stun, and dominate and the ability to shift several squares when using second wind.

The racial description also mentions the Seeker class, presumably one of the new PHB3 classes. I don't think we have heard about this elsewhere. Any ideas? My first thought was a clairsentient or a seer, but then either of those names would seem a better fit. Since it suits the Githzerai, maybe it is a class that seeks inner peace/enlightenment/tranquility, such as a non-melee counterpart to the monk?

My first thought was a Psionic class based around Scrying, Clairvoyance, Precognition, etc. It would be based around being able to pursue, predict and know beforehand even from far distances someone's actions. Combat wise it would be a Defender being able to predict the actions of the enemies thus being able to block attacks, defend/get allies out of the way and other such actions.

One of the racial feats for the Githzerai is a bonus to saves while you have power points. I'm inclined to guess that the Seeker is going to be our Psionic Defender.

The biggest thing seen so far in this article is this:
Contrary to some message-board claims, the githyanki are not appearing in Player’s Handbook 3. Why not, you ask?

The githzerai’s evil kin are great villains, and we want to be careful about how often we turn villain races into player character options. Making the drow a playable race spent a lot of that currency, and we don’t want to overdo it.
So with the four races in PHB3 that means: Minotaur, Githzerai, Wilden and one mor

Definitely interesting about the Githyanki. It makes sense for 4e though, since WoTC is making an effort to support all the races and classes with plenty of additional material once they're made available to players. If it will be rarely used (or allowed by DMs) then the time spent isn't terribly justified. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a Villainous Races book or article at some point that presents such races suitable for play (a few feats, and maybe one paragon path) without committing to the future support required for PHB or Campaign Setting races.

Crap. With the Yanki out, that means there's not going to be a +2 Con/Int race.
Well if Elan is in PHB3 they could fit quite nicely. They would definitely have a Con bonus with their bodies being very resilient and them being able to survive longer without food, etc. Plus Intelligence would go hand-in-hand with being a race that would orient around Psion.

Also from the article:

A high Wisdom score fills the secondary ability score for
the other three psionic classes, though the githzerai will
need to get his primary ability score for those classes the
hard way.

So there are four psionic classes total (we know two already) and none have wisdom as a primary stat (though all have builds with wisdom as a secondary stat).

Has it been confirmed that there are 4 races?

You know there may be 5 psionic classes since Monk was originally of the Ki source. They added them into the psionic source later.
