PHBII - Affiliations in Eberron

Has anyone started working on Affiliations for Eberron? Specifically, I was thinking of Dragonmarked houses, but there are a lot of good organizations that might work well as Affiliations. I've seen the Korranberg Library and Emerald Claw on the WotC forums. Other good ones might be the governments, the sub-governmental orgs from Five Nations, the Blood of Vol, the Aurum, the Chamber, the Church of the Silver Flame and so on...

Don't forget the Order of Aureon, and the Guild of Starlight and Shadows. In fact, when I get time I need to work on those VERY ones, because I have one Artificer who is relatively high up in the Order of Aureon...

Here's one. Comments welcome.

House Tharashk
Background, Goals and Dreams: See Ebberon Campaign Setting.
Type: Business
Scale: 12 (multiregional/kingdom). House Tharashk operates all throughout the continent of Khorvaire and is beginning to expand prospecting operations into Xen'drik.
Affiliation Score Criteria: Like all Dragonmarked houses, House Tharashk is made up primarily of the race that bears their particular Dragonmark - in this case, humans and half-orcs. House membership is not exclusive to those races, but others are in the minority.

House Tharashk is known for it's dragonshard prospectors, inquisitives and bounty hunters. While it is hard to gain influence for prospecting, particularly big finds do make the leadership of the house take notice. Inquisitives and bounty hunters are assigned missions by the House, usually for jobs contracted by other organizations.

Criterion Modifier
Character level +1/2 PC's level
Least Dragonmark of Finding +1
Lesser Dragonmark of Finding +1
Greater Dragonmark of Finding +1
Dragonmark Heir (Mark of Finding) +1/class level
Heir of Siberys (Mark of Finding) +3
Favored in House (Tharashk) feat +4
Ranger or rogue +1
Inquisitive +1
10 or more ranks in Search or Gather Information +1
Per successful mission +1
Responsible for a Dragonshard prospecting mission that makes at least 5,000(?) gp +1/5000 gp
Any Dragonmark other than the Mark of Finding -20
Favored in House (other house) feat -4
Active member of another Dragonmarked House or Government -20
Former member of another Dragonmarked House or Government -10

Titles, Benefits and Duties:
Advancement in House Tharashk is still relatively informal. When a promising candidate is noticed by their superiors they are usually assigned a particularly difficult mission, such as prospecting for Siberys dragonshards in Xen'drik, or tracking down a well-known fugitive. Successfully completing the mssion results in an increase of rank within the House.

Affiliation Score Title: Benefits and Duties
3 or less Not afflilated or Junior member.
4-10 Apprentice Seeker: Considered a member of the House and may be called upon to undertake missions.
11-20 Seeker: +2 circumstance bonus on Gather Information checks to find fugitives or rumors of dragonshard finds.
21-29 Terratorial Leader: Become responsible for business in a specific territory and be assigned two human or half-orc Expert 4 assistants. Once per month, your experts must make a DC 15 Appraise check. If both fail, business has been bad and you loose 1 point from your affiliation score.
30 or higher Regional Leader: Become responsible for business in a major region. Once per month, you can have a Siberys Heir use Discern Location at no cost to you. Once per day, you may have a Dragonmark Heir use any of the dragonmark powers. Regional Leaders who abuse this ability for their personal benefit may find themselves loosing affiliation.

Executive Powers: Harvest (Dragonshards), Trade.

I've made several but they're based in the City of Stormreach so they are set at a lower scale for the local campaign.

Here's The Emerald Claw.

Symbol: A stylised green claw
Background, Goals, and Dreams: Once a proud knighthood in Karrnath the Emerald Claw was outlawed by King Kaius III. Many members of the order still see themselves as patriots to their father nation despite the kings instructions. They work to establish the Knighthood as one of honour, renowned for it’s great deeds. However these few are in a minority as most of the Order of the Emerald Claw seek power. Many seek power to reclaim their rightful place in Karrnath while others merely seek power for its own sake.
Enemies and Allies: As a Knightly Order it seems appropriate that many organisations count the Emerald Claw as enemies. However most view them with a degree of neutrality that their enemies are shocked by.
Many members of the Wayfinder Foundation have fought against the Order and count them as foes, the Greensingers view the Order’s association with undead as abhorrent. The Inspired often run against agents of the Order and so often count them as enemies. Religious organisations other than the Blood of Vol view them as enemies.
The Order has made extra effort to become the allies of both Zelkarune’s Horns and the Storm Council and can count both groups as allies. Curiously the Aurum can also be counted as allies on many occasions, as long as it doesn’t cost them anything or a profit can be made. Obviously they are staunch allies of the Church of the Blood of Vol.
Members: The nominal leader of the Order of the Emerald Claw in Stormreach is Doctor Emil von Karlak (LE male human mage 5/Fleshwarper 3) however his warped appearance means that most public duties are undertaken by the ambitious Terence Loth (LE male human fighter 3/sorcerer 4). Other prominent members include Duncan van de Loss (LE male human fighter 5), Jasper Ocutus (NE male half elf ranger 3, darkrunner 3) and the patriotic Colm ir’Locan (LG male human paladin 3).
Secrets: The Order of the Emerald Claw is really a cover for the military branch of the Blood of Vol religion. In addition Doctor von Karlak is responsible for a number of aberrations and creatures with aberration grafts appearing round Stormreach.
Type: Fighting company
Scale: 10 (Regional)
Titles, Benefits, and Duties: The Order of the Emerald Claw has a very formal structure of a knighthood with ranks being assigned on merit based on the deeds of the knight. Rewards are usually better treatment by underlings and lower ranking members of the order. However a knight is expected to perform well in missions to retain these benefits and continued failure can sometimes result in assassination.
It is the responsibility of each member of the Emerald Claw to serve the interests of the Blood of Vol and to harm the interests of her enemies. Expansion is therefore a key requirement for the Order.

Criterion Affiliation Score Modifier
Character Level +¼ PC’s level
Base attack +5 or higher +½
Base attack +10 or higher +1
Noble title +1

Has been dead -4
Known to be friendly with enemy affiliation -4
Known to be a member of an enemy affiliation -20
Falls in combat against an enemy of the Order -4
Is known to worship any religion other than the Blood of Vol -20

Affiliation Score Title: Benefits and Duties

Excellent thread. Do you have links to the ones on Wotc boards?
