Out of curiosity, Ambrus - did you, by any chance, solve the puzzlebox?

Yes, though my character received a bonus on the check since he got to see it's hidden mechanism due to it being damaged before he used mending spells to repair it.

This might be against the spirit of the thread but why do you need a value for the phylactery? Are you going to be able to sell that ANYWHERE?

Value if trying to sell a phylactery at the local pawn shop - 0 GP.

It doesn't stop being a masterly intricate puzzle box simply because there's no longer a soul inside. Even though it's non-magical, it still retains its value as an art object.

After reviewing the relevant sources, my GM settled on a value of 2,000 gp for the box.
