MM2
- thri-keen
- monsters of legend
- the various celestials
- ummmm, loxo
FF
- maybe the ethergaunts
MM3
- Basically the Eberron stuff
Miniatures Handbook
- Equiceph
- Protectar
- Ramadeen
- Nothic
Manual of the Planes
- Bariaur
- Mercane/Arcane
- don't think the Dabus are in here, but them as well.
I also like the Infernals (and lots of other stuff) from Monsternomicon, Reavers (and again other stuff) from Liber Bestiarus and the new races in Arcana Unearthed.
I think what emerges from all of this is that a really good setting should be looking to generate 3 or 4 really interesting, or "iconic" new monsters (as a further example, look at Runequest for this). Eberron is promising from this point of view. Equally a weak setting is one that doesn't do so.
As a PS - the races (Stone, Destiny, etc) are trying to insert new iconic races, not sure what people think of the the Goliaths.
