[QUOTE="Meech17, post: 9400525, member: 7044459"] That's not incorrect at all.. There is an inherent level of gambling that is core to the game. While I have some issues with that.. I enjoy the game itself so much that I'm able to look past it. But I do think this is extra gross.. and it's WoTC shooting themselves and the game itself in the foot in favor of chasing profits. (I know.. Corporations gonna corp. Capitalism goes brrrr) The game is at a cross roads. The Standard format is in it's death throes. It's a common joke in the community that "No one Plays Standard" With that said, standard is in a good place right now.. And they have been putting out some really good sets. We actually have a shot of maybe seeing a standard revival.. But they are taking this opportunity to try and sell trash as well. They are taking this renewed interest in standard to try and dupe potential new players at big box stores. The cynical side of me thinks they are also using the cute, child friendly nature of this new set to appeal to kids. Lil Jimmy has $12 in chore money and while he's at Target with his mom he sees these cute woodland critters on the card game. He could buy two real booster packs, or four of these draft chaff boosters.. Which choice do you think he's making? I also wanted to point this out here specifically, because I know a lot of EN World users here are not Magic players.. But may find the set desirable, due to Redwall, or Humblewood, or whatever. MTG cards make great reference pieces for TTRPGs. So I wanted to warn those not in the know who were thinking about perhaps buying some Bloomburrow to shy away from this product, and look at Play Boosters instead. (Or really.. Talk to your LGS about buying the single cards you want. You may be surprised to find that you could get a whole mess of cute critters a few week after launch for just dimes and quarters each.)
