I was around 9 or 10.. I lived on top of a pretty steep hill, and the neighbor kid and I used to spend all day riding our scooters down the hill. One day I hit a rock or stick or something and wiped out pretty bad. With perfect timing my dad pulls around the corner in the van and is about to head up the hill to the house. He stopped, asked how I was doing. I checked myself out in the side-view mirror of the car to see that I looked like Harvey Dent after using half my face to slow myself to a stop. I mention to my dad that I think I broke my scooter, and he said something along the lines of "Well, that sucks.. See ya at the house kiddo" And then proceeded to drive home leaving me at the bottom of the hill. I drag the scooter and myself back home, and as soon as I approach the door I'm accosted by my little sister who is furious that I damaged the scooter we shared. I head inside and my mom freaks out because I look like I was in a fight or something and she asks what happens. I explain the story to her and she pieces it together that my dad had just arrived home before me, and we must have crossed paths. I confirm that we did.. So she gets up, and storms off to go yell at him! I'm just standing there like "WTF man.. I'm bleeding here." Finally my older brother walked by and took me into the bathroom where he proceeded to extract a few pebbles from my knees with tweezers and dump peroxide over my wounds. Parents are wild.
