They are always taking inspiration from other bands and even emulating other songs (I can't prove it, but I am almost certain Fade to Black was an attempt by Hatfield to copy Children of the Damned for example). And I think prog is having a big influence on a lot of this stuff at the moment. I am just noticing some of the stuff I see sounds so close to the original, but not so close they are literally ripping off the songs, that it is actually pretty stunning. Greta Van Fleet was the first band I remember getting close to that. But since then, people just seem capable of completely capturing a band's style (obviously the one hitch maybe being the vocals where just uniqueness of the human voice can factor in)</p></blockquote><p></p>
