[QUOTE="trappedslider, post: 9432003, member: 41932"] so i did a thing: In the heart of the bustling steam-powered city of Arcanum, where gears clanked and steam hissed from every corner, Lira raced through the narrow, labyrinthine streets. Her heart pounded in rhythm with the thrum of the city, a place where the clash of magic and machinery was an everyday spectacle. Behind her, the heavy boots of the city guard echoed ominously, their shouts lost in the cacophony of the metropolis. Lira gritted her teeth, clutching the small, glowing artifact she had "borrowed" from the pompous Lord Carrington’s estate. “Stop her!” one of the guards bellowed, his voice barely cutting through the noise. Lira’s eyes narrowed as she glanced up at the towering walls of the alleyway. She had no intention of being caught. She focused, feeling the familiar tingle of magic coursing through her veins. The world around her seemed to slow as she called upon the arcane energies, blending them with her own physical prowess. With a fluid motion, she leapt toward the wall, her boots skidding across the rough, soot-covered surface. The magic flowed into her limbs, enhancing her agility as she pushed off and ran along the vertical surface, the steam from the city rising around her like a shroud. The guards below skidded to a halt, gaping in disbelief as she defied gravity, her form a blur of motion. Lira smirked, feeling the rush of adrenaline and power. She reached the end of the alley, the wall giving way to open air. For a moment, she hung in the balance, suspended between the crumbling wall and the gaping void. Then, with a final burst of magic, she kicked off the wall, flipping through the air and landing gracefully on the rooftop opposite. The guards cursed below, their quarry vanished like a wisp of steam. Lira took a deep breath, the artifact still warm in her hand, its runes glowing softly. She turned her gaze to the horizon, where the city’s skyline was a tangle of metal spires and drifting airships. “Better luck next time, boys,” she whispered, before slipping into the shadows of the rooftops, her next destination already in mind.
