I keep wanting crispy, minimal flop, NY or New Haven style, recently. I think in large part because YouTube started offering me Dave Portnoy pizza reviews and I accidentally clicked on them several dozen times. There's a really good NY style place in Manchester- Vintage Pizza, but even ordered well done it's still not crispy enough for me and has too much flop. Re-heated in a pan on the stovetop until the bottom starts to smoke, though? Outstanding. Got their classic margherita last week and it was magnificent. Yes! Pizza rolls and hot pockets tend to tease then disappoint me though, as it seems like there is no or a very brief happy medium inside them between ice cold and peel-off-the-entire-roof-of-your-mouth scorching. But NY style? Yes. New Haven? Heck yes. Chicago stuffed? Oh baby yes, though only one or two slices. Tavern Style? Definitely. Stromboli? Yes, wholly! Calzone? Mony mony! I learned yesterday (so not suitable for the other thread) that there is a Zoomer tiktok movement called Shifting or Shifters, of kids/young adults who believe that they are able to visit/exchange consciousness with their alternate reality selves a la multiverse theory*. That there are an infinite number of alternate selves, and that through certain techniques they can shift their consciousness from DR (Default Reality) to their PR (Preferred Reality). And that a surprising/depressing/unsurprising number of them Shift into their self who is a student at Hogwarts so they can do magic and date Draco Malfoy. (Reminding me of the Snapewife thing among Millennial HP fans, come to think of it). Apparently if you listen to them and the techniques they're using it seems clear that they've discovered self-hypnosis and lucid dreaming but don't realize that's what they're doing. *(Someone should introduce them to Quantum Leap)
