For a brief period of time I worked at BestBuy. An LG rep told me that Samsung washers/dryers were garbage and prone to breaking due to their drums being belt driven, rather than the plainly superior direct drive technology of the LGs. I took that with a large pinch of salt but it's something I remembered for some reason. The apartment unit I'm currently living in was freshly remodeled prior to us moving in, and it has a brand new GE washer/dryer set. We've been here 19 months and the washer is starting to sound like it needs to be taken out back and given the Old Yeller treatment. This has been our strategy as well. It's just two of us, and cooking for two is kind of challenging. (Maybe that's just because we're Mid-westerners raised on casseroles and crock-pot meals but I digress) So generally we cook dinner, and will eat left overs for our work lunches. You get sick of eating the same thing four days in a row so we usually freeze a serving or two as well. Last Christmas her parents got us a vacuum sealer and that's been awesome. Fill the bags, squish them flat, seal and freeze. We've got slabs of pulled pork, soup, lasagna, and more in the freezer. If you're feeling adventurous you can pull out the stack, shuffle them up and deal yourself out dinner at random.
