Oh, and on-topic: there should be a generic Laserwriter driver on MacOS8-X that will let you use any Postscript enabled laser. It just treats it as a 'generic' printer, so you don't get the special features of your particular model... but it's better than no printing at all!

My laser printer died a while back. I miss it.
However, I got a Canon i550 and it seems pretty sweet for a 150 dollar printer.

I do all of my copying at Kinkos. Not my favorite place but I do know they keep their machines in good shape.

I just scanned, traced and printed out the maps for City of the Spider Queen.

Full scale, each square one inch.

Total, 16 maps. Each about 5 x 8 feet. Printed tiled on my office printer.

I may be the a horrible employee, but I'm a great DM.
