Pirates of Ravenloft...

First Post
I posted this open call for ideas on the Kargatane boards - I guess I'll post it here also.

I'm thinking of using the world presented in Swashbuckling Adventures / 7th Sea, but with a twist. I want to add a little bit of Ravenloft / Masque of the Red Death, making it a darker setting, and a Solomon Kane sort of feel.

Anyway...is there any suggestions anyone here can give me? What to import, what not to, who's a potential Darklord (I'm thinking at least Captain Reis and Cardinal Verdugo of the Inquisition)...

Well, that's no fair! I had something totally different in mind when I read the thread title.

I am the Vampire King...
And it is it is a glorious thing
To be the Vampire King!

Or...

In short in matters mythical maniacal and magical
I am the very model of Darklord most tyrannical

Bitter is the taste of my disappointment...

Your idea's great, fine, sure. But think of what might have been...

Though I'm called Bloodsucker,
Sweet Little Bloodsucker,
Though I could never tell why....

Nah.....

Actually I would make two suggestions,

First....

>>>>>>Warning! Product Plug!!!!<<<<<<<<

Get Broadsides! from Living Imagination The tactical naval combat system is better and it will enhance your use of the 7th Sea campaign setting IMHO

Second...

Use both products as guides and make your campaign based on a dark retelling of earth's own history. Imagine Lord Nelson rising as a Spirit of Vengeance and wreaking havoc with England's enemies... or the Spanish Armada doing the same, don't get me started on the fun you could have with Cortez, or if the fountain of youth was actually filled with the blood of innocents... Muhahahahahaha......

On the other hand the musical idea might be better.....
