Pit Fiend level adjustment

Im trying to break down a Pit Fiend the way savage speices breaks down races into levels. But Im not sure what its level would actually be. I was thinking like 36 but am I way off. Can someone give me some help. Level one maybee level two to start. How would this work with epic rules?

The short answer is you don't. You start off as a much lesser devil, then work your way up the hierarchy, transforming each time.

Rough guess. By level 30 a PC could be a hell of alot more powerful than a "normal" Balor. YMMV.

I wouldn't start monstrous progression any lower than level 15 (10 HD, 5 LA, eyeball abilities to fit in with a "gimp-balor"). At that level you're the 98lb weakling as Balors go.
