WotC should get Monte Cook and do a one-shot Planescape book.

This would be the perfect solution, but unfortunately not very likely to happen... :( If either WotC or Monte would do it, I'll be very happy.

Where's Ashy? :p

::chuckle:: I'm here, Knighty! ;) Thanks for the vote - I'm sure the bloods over at PW will be singin' about it! :D

Wow. Does that ever bring some memories flodding back.

I used to be co-head of "Cutters" all the way back in 2e and the start of 3e. It just so happened that when the site went through its massive "hiatus" my play group also split up and I pretty much stopped playing D&D.

I'm back now, (of course) but doubt I'd have the time to help the old crew out anymore. Life just isn't the same now as it was 3-5 years ago.

Heya, CS! How th' heck are ya?!?!? :) Heard from Torsten lately? It's been (as you said...) YEARS! :D

Well, to bring this back on topic, if it was created, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I would hope that Monte and the gang from th' old days would be involved, however... :)

I didn't mean to be evasive.

I am not currently pursuing a PS license or any other kind of license. I don't enjoy working on licensed products much, as there are almost always too many Cooks in the kitchen (pun intended, sorry) in such projects.

If WotC offered me a truckload of money to do it as a book for them, or a licensing opportunity did come along that was both economically viable and without a lot of strings attached, I'd probably consider it, but that's only because of my love for the setting and the work that was done on it. And even then, I'm not saying it would happen.

This latter point is a moot one, however, as WotC is not currently entertaining any new licensing agreements with any of their properties.

I truly, sincerely appreciate the kind words and the votes of confidence, but unless things change rather dramatically on WotC's end, anyone doing anything official with Planescape just will not happen. That's about as un-evasive as it can get, I think.

I always envisioned the planes as some legendary, mystical places, not as some cosmic adventuring grounds.

Why are the two mutually exclusive? The planes are legendary, mystical, and grounds for cosmic adventure.

Furthermore, to echo Monte's point, don't get your hopes up about anyone else snatching up the PS license in the vacuum left in Monte's wake; from what I have been told, WOTC wants a fair amount for the license and IMHO that amount would be out of the reach of most (if not all) D20 companies out there....

So it's at LEAST $100... ;)
