You've neatly covered exactly what I'm currently running.
The group are all members of the "Nameless Legion", which was recently detailed in Dragon Magazine (the merc issue, I don't recall the number).
The current group is a Lizardman Fighter, a Tiefling Rogue, a Half-Celestial Rogue (the "face"), a Half-Dragon Sorcerer, and our most normal member, the Half-Orc Barbarian/Cleric.
We've also had a Werewolf Fighter (Natural Lycanthrope) and a Half-Dragon monk pass through the party... before their untimely demises.
Using the Planescape sites scattered around the web and a healthy dose of the Manual of the Planes, we've had a great time romping around the planes... and they're just getting started (average party level is 6). Their favorite spot to vacation between missions is definitely the Cage.
I love the Planes.
I gotcha beat.

My last PS campaign's party, The Seekers, consisted of the following:
Sagan - half githzerai/half modron wizard (can you say confused?) who had an ooze mephit follower named Bloorp
Feldspar - magma genasi priest of Oghma/Guvner
Romulous Maelstrom - a firbolg paladin of Annam - sworn protector of Sagan whose bonded mount was a sap dragon named Ningil (often took the form of an amber-haired elf)
Galas Hrothwine - a korred Sensate ranger who was the adopted child of an ancient blue dragon (LLLOOOOONNNGGG STORY) and brother to a tribe of myconids.
Mysthenia Gravis - a doppleganger rogue
Ce'zat - an arcane (now called mercane) wizard/cleric
Teal'c - a tiefling rogue who wound up being the son of Mask, wound up with a follower named "Cimmy", who was a Cimmerian.
Leonidas - a prime half-elf ranger who was oddly enough, the leader of the party
Mordrin - a prime human mage who was (unknown to him for most of the campaign) a prophet (new class that I created), had a homonculus named Cabbot.
Oh, those were the days..... I love PS too....
