Does anyone know what happened to Planescape 3e project down at PS3e.com. I remember they were to make it for the third edition. But the site hasn't been updated in ages. Are they doing it or has the whole project flopped?

From what I can guess, they originally thought it would be a good idea to go with a teeny tiny group of core people to write the stuff. They got some basics in a Quick Play Rules form (which Mr. Noah and others got the pleasure of previewing at the last Chicago Gameday), but it was never really released. I think they eventually decided that it'd be better to let those who work on the site in on it, and so they've started some lively discussion.

Basically, right now, they're working out the details of how to do factions and what races to include.

The site hasn't been updated for a while I think mostly due to the fact that the webmaster, Brannon, has spawned another of his planetouched race and is busy caring for that. Four kids, and a wife, as well as two very happy digital children....the dude's family is huge.

Simultaneously, I'm working on Philosophies and Falsehoods, which you can buy to inject a few more philosophical ideas into your games. A bit of PS-style in a non-PS document, but still valuable. A gazillion new sect ideas, at any rate.

Basically, right now, they're working out the details of how to do factions and what races to include.

It's OK to say "We" and not "they" Jacob! Don't try and worm out of it!!

I'll just add to the nutcase midget's post as well that things are definately moving. There have been some slowdowns as well due to the top boys finishing off a product due to be published for RL. Slowly but surely the Gith Race guidebook is coming along and the core book has a ton of traffic as well as various submissions. I'm not on the Monster book team, so don't have sight of it too much, but I understand that it is also underway.

Yep, it's coming along - I'm one of the team working on the monster book (my job is flavour text and general 'fluff' for some of the monsters).

A few major issues that need to be resolved - how to approach and deal with certain aspects of the setting, and convert them to 3e - have led to work in some areas slowing down as different ideas are tossed around - but that's just an essential part of the design process.
