planning a thanksgiving solo...

It's been a tradition for me and my friend Jarett to get together during the holidays and play D&D for old times sake. This thanksgiving I'd like to run a 4e game for his old planescape character Kiryana (female aasimar/fighter 15/sensate), and wanted to reach out to the board for ideas.

The basic plot I have is "Oracle of the Amazon Queen", where his mission is to warn the queen about a plot to corrupt her oracle. I intend to involve a "beast of the flesh" (gibbering abomination) as a sort of "sacred monster" of an ancient sensate order, a radical sensate splinter sect, a medusa disguised as an oracle, amazon politics/gladiatorial games, plenty of puzzles and combat tactics, and whatever other cool ideas I can come up with.

If anyone has any input about running a solo 4e game, a planescape 4e game, or anything more specific, I'd love to get some input! :)

I'd say let him use the DMG to make an elite template of another class. You might also give him a sidekick that uses an elite template of another class as well. That way they count as four characters and you can run larger combats.

If you want to keep it smaller, use just one character with an elite template. That lets you throw eight minions or four minions and a normal guy, or an elite at him.

As far as converting Planescape beasties, you can use the generic damage charts to rebuild a few creatures into Planescape baddies and build minions by modeling them after the stats of existing minions.

Those are my thoughts.
