[Play By Post - D20 Modern] Shadows Rising

The city of Emerald Cove, Massachusetts is big as far as big college towns go. There is the odd unsolved murder and talk of kids who dress in all black pretending to be vampires. But it is all talk. Or so you think.

The summer is over, yet, it's still hot but autumn is setting in and school and college is starting up again. People are starting the winter preperations already just in case of this years cold, biting winter.

But something in Emerald Cove isn't right. A couple of local college girls have disappeared while babysitting, and the children are missing too. Parents are worried and afraid the girls may have kidnapped their children.

But other things are going on too. A new exhibit has opened up in the Emerald Cove Museum of National History involving various pieces from ancient Egypt.

But everything is normal. Right?

This is a Play By Post game that will be starting soon. It is a D20 Modern game that combines all three settings: Urban Arcana, Agents of Psi and Shadow Chasers with a hint of Buffy and Angel thrown in. Only one person can be the Shadow Slayer though and it will be done through 'writing auditions'.

The site isnt up yet and im taking applications for characters and if you wish to include a writing audion for the 'Slayer' then include that too. I will not accept MS Word documents so please either place it in the body of the email or in Wordpad.

So no one will start off as the Shadow Slayer then? They'll gradually progress into the role?

exactly. And only ONE person can be the 'slayer'. If you want a chance, you will have to send me (email) a written audition for the role. I will then tell you who has the role of the Slayer when the game starts.

Sounds good to me. I like the idea of an audition, although I probable won't go for the Slayer role myself.

A couple more questions:

1) Any limits on starting occupations? For example, do you want everyone to start as a student?

2) Kind of linked to the first, what kind of age do you want the characters to be? (Assuming you have any preference.)

I was think of a student character, so you should have at least one I'll be getting my d20 Modern book tomorrow (been using the oh-so-wonderful SRD until now), so I should have some stats posted either tomorrow evening or the next day.
